This double-blind trial, in which high-risk patients with hypertension were randomly assigned to treatment with benazepril plus either amlodipine or hydrochlorothiazide, showed that benazepril plus amlodipine was superior to benazepril plus hydrochlorothiazide in reducing cardiovascular events in this population. <P>]]></description>
