Suri Graduates To The Sippy Cup

Filed under: Tom Cruise > Suri Cruise

sippy-cup.jpg

Tom Cruise took his little publicity pet out for a walk in NY on Wednesday, offering Suri up for photo ops with the paps.

And, the Xenu spawn sported a new accessory, graduating from the bottle to the sippy cup!

FINALLY!

Well done, Suri!

Pretty soon she'll be sippin' on champagne. And maybe one day she'll even wear a coat regularly when it's cold.

They grow so quickly!

WTF?

Were they trying to make her look like a strung out chick on the verge of death on purpose?

So not hot!

Keri Russell had these pix snapped as part of her spread with Details magazine.

We think we see a little nip in one of the pics.

Do you see it too?

And, doesn't she look like Gollum in the top right bathtub pic?

The Gayken Ain't So Nice

Filed under: Clay Aiken > Kathy Griffin

griffinaiken.jpg

Poor Kathy Griffin. She just gets no love from the Gayken.

The funny lady is known to make fun of Clay Aiken every once in a while. She lovingly refers to him as Gayken as well, even before he came out of the closet.

So during Kathy's appearance on Rosie O'Donnell's short-lived variety show, she wanted to make peace with him.

Kathy said in an interview yesterdy, "I held up one of those ghetto blasters playing one of Clay's songs, and I begged him to take me back and he said no."

Adding, "And then I walked out of the room and Gloria Estefan said to me, 'I told ya—you shouldn't have gone in there alone.' "

Kathy said she was expecting at least a thank you of some sort for helping him come out as gay.

But she says, "There were no words of thanks or even really any words at all, for that matter. I would have to say he was not very nice."

Awe, no worries Kathy. Now you just have more material for your skits!

Chelsea Handler Likes Gays, But Not Tori Spelling

Filed under: Gay Gay Gay > Celebrity Feuds > Tori Spelling > Chelsea Handler

no-tori-her.jpg

In a new interview with The Advocate, Chelsea Handler discusses being a gay "icon", but distances herself from Tori Spelling with a 10 foot pole.

How do you explain your strong connection with the gay community?

I’m like a gay man trapped in a woman’s body, and that’s exactly why the gays and I get along so well. We have the same attitude, which is “fuck everybody and let’s say exactly what we think.” I understand somebody who doesn’t exactly fit in, somebody who’s struggled or felt embarrassed, ashamed, or not confident in who they are. Growing up, I got tortured and made fun of, but that makes you a lot stronger. And now, obviously, I’m very popular.

But your late mother was Mormon. Did that affect your thoughts on homosexuality?

Well, we kept the Mormon side down to a dull roar growing up, because we realized how ridiculous and intolerant that religion is. My mom was never really a typical devout Mormon. After my brother passed away when he was 21 years old, my mom turned to religion, as many people do, but she was very tolerant of other religions. It was a melding of religions in our household, which worked out well because we’re all open to anything—and, as a final result, not religious at all. Organized religion, more than anything else, is completely inappropriate.

Did you attend any Prop. 8 protests or rallies?

I only go where the gay people invite me to go. It’s not nice to do things for the community only when people are looking. People who speak out for gay people just so that they can create a fan base annoy the shit out of me. People like Tori Spelling. She doesn’t have compassion for them. She’s not going out doing things for them. She’s like, “Oh, I have such a huge gay following.” It’s because no one else is following her!

Tell us what you really think, Chelsea!

No word yet from Spelling, but we expect her to release a statement….three seconds ago.

Que Monga

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama

ap0810020229372.jpg

Poor Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. The senior Republican Congresswoman from Florida (Miami!) received a call from President-elect Barack Obama yesterday and hung up on him. Twice!

Ros-Lehtinen thought it was a prank call. She told Barack on the phone the first time, “I’m sorry. But I think this is a joke.”

Obama then told what happened to his Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, who then called Ileana and said, “Ileana, I cannot believe that you hung up on the President-elect.”

So what did she do? She hung up on him as well!

As for her reasoning behind the phone hang-ups she said, "I thought it was one of the radio stations in South Florida playing an incredible, elaborate, terrific prank on me. They got Fidel Castro to go along. They've gotten Hugo Chavez and others to fall for their tricks. I said, 'Oh, no, I won't be punked.'"

Listen, we have nothing against Ros-Lehtinen, but seriously, she thinks she's as big as Castro, Hugo, or even Sarah Palin?

As for Obama, he was simply calling Ileana to congratulate her on her re-election and to mention he was looking forward to working with her as the ranking Republican member of the House Foreign Affairs committee. It wasn't until after the third call which came from Howard Berman, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, that she believed the calls were real.

So reazling the mistake, she had her office release a statement explaining the misunderstanding. Unfortunately for her, the press release contained some mispellings. Such as Obama spelled "Barak Obama" and Rahm spelled "Rahm Emmanuel."

After finally talking to Obama, she said the conversation went well and added that "He laughed a lot, saying in Chicago they do it all the time. He said, 'I don't blame you for being skeptical.'"

Shakira to Shake for Obama's Inauguration

Filed under: Latinolicious > Shakira > Barack Obama

shakira.jpg

We hope it's true!

Latina magazine reports that Shakira will be performing at the Obama inauguration in January!

The Obama camp won't confirm or deny the report, but we're inclined to believe it!

Latina did break the big news that Mariah Carey married Nick Cannon earlier this year!

Plus, when philanthropist Shaki endorsed the Prez-Elect back in October, the big B responded, "It's an honor for me to receive support from someone with so much talent, from an artist who has been so generous."

There's mutual love there!

We can't wait to see the Colombiana heat up that wintery DC night!

Punk'd For Criminals

popo.jpg

Inneresting show concept!

Fox has just wrapped up filming a show pilot called Smile, You’re Under Arrest (working title), which the network describes as a 'reverse' Punk'd that targets criminals who have warrants out for their arrest.

“Instead of the worst day of your life and then a joke at the end, this is the reverse. This is the best day of your life, and then we arrest you,” explains Fox's President of Alternative Entertainment, Mike Darnell.

For example, in one scenario a subject is invited to a fake fashion shoot and is made to believe that he's about to become a supermodel but then ends with cops coming in for an arrest.

And in another, a criminal offered an auto racer opportunity ends when a police car comes up behind him on a race track to pull him over.

According to Darnell, all of the subjects are non-violent criminals.

He also adds that set-ups are a common way for officers to nab people out with warrants. However, most stings tend to be much smaller scale, such as tricking them into thinking they won tickets to a major sporting event.

The Fox suit went on to say, “If it were a regular person you’d feel bad for them, but they are all wanted by the law. It’s Cops as comedy and no one’s ever tried it before.”

If the show makes it on air, will you watch?

We'll give it a shot!

Spencer Tells Mama Montag Off

Filed under: Spencer Pratt > Heidi Montag

forever-and-ever.jpg

Newly married Spencer Pratt is working on a nice healthy relationship with his mother-in-law.

Responding to Mama Montag's not-so-nice words, in which she says she believes Spencer drugged Heidi to the altar, Pratt responds by saying he can't wait to prove Mrs. Montag's shortlived wedding predictions wrong. He said that he and Heidi are going to be "married for the rest of our lives."

Talking to Ryan Seacrest's radio show, Pratt said, "I'm sure she's just hurt and reacting crazy because she wasn't there."

Because a mother wouldn't want to be present at one of the most important days of her daughter's life - duh!

And Spencer saw his mother-in-law yesterday, Wednesday, to tape a scene for The Hills.

And how was it?

He said it "was pretty much the most insane day of my entire life."

And will the happy couple be spending Christmas with the Montags?

Pratt said, "The Pratts - as in Heidi Pratt and Spencer Pratt - will probably have their own Christmas tree."

You can listen to the rest of the phone call here.
