In light of my most recent post, I thought it would be fun if people chimed in with the professional organizations, services, and resources they’ve found helpful in their freelance career, regardless of the industry they work in. I’ll go first.

Media Bistro has great job listings–you can search by state, full time/part time/ etc., among other options. EFA’s email job listings offer a lot of different positions, too, and their discussion group (through Yahoo Groups) gives editorial folks the chance to exchange info on all kinds of topics: how to use specific tools in Microsoft Word; grammar and usage questions, how to stay focused when working at home, etc.

I am just noticing this post about 8 months later, but I visit http://www.freelancewritinggigs.com daily. I love the informative articles on there and the job postings (while often on the lower end of the pay scale) always give me good ideas about networking. The community is very supportive as well.
