Why does my session expire?

For security reasons, your session automatically expires five hours after you have logged in. This is to protect your account from unauthorized access.

If you do not set your computer to 'accept' the cookies (small pieces of site information) when logging into mail.com, or if your browser is not configured to 'accept' cookies, your session will expire. mail.com use cookies to assist us in authenticating our users and saving configuration information about your e-mail account. Cookies are required for our e-mail services to identify you on our system.

If you see this message immediately after logging in, you should check the following:

  • Check to see that your computer system time is accurate. Cookies are time-sensitive and may not work if your computer's date/time is incorrect.
  • Make sure that your browser is configured to accept cookies, or that you agree to accept cookies during the log-in process.
  • Turn off any third-party programs that automatically reject cookies.

Once you have ensured that your computer and browser meet all of the above conditions, you may click here to log in again.
